EXTREMELY FINE WALTER METTAL BOW FOR DISCRIMINATING PLAYERS. PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA QUALITY. WORLD CLASS MASTER BOWMAKER.A very fine original Violin bow by German bowmaker WALTER METTAL, circa 1950's or 60's. Overall condition is EXTREMELY FINE. The bow has a light blonde finish and is extremely beautiful. Frog shows no signs of wear and is mounted in ebony and silver with a Parisian eye on each side and original silver wrap. Head plate is of silver. Octogonal pernambuco. Good medium stiff octagonal shaft, with beautiful curvature intact and no scratches. This bow has seen little use in its life and has been carefully stored. Coat of arms on frog. Mother of pearl on 5 spots. All parts are original. Walter Mettal was a renowned German bowmaker from Moehrendorf Germany (near Bubenreuth). Some of his bows sell in the tens of thousands range.
