Gold Tone OT 800 banjo as pictured. Very good condition. There is a small defect in the fingerboard in the frailing scoop shown in the photos. Overall excellent condition and includes hard case. This is a beautiful banjo which I have played very little - thus the auction. I have owned it for several years and only played it at home, otherwise it mostly lives in the case. Could you a bit of a dusting and polish. Sounds great, plays smooth. It's a fine instrument - I just don't play it often enough to justify keeping it around. Shipping is included in the price and I will likely use UPS to send it off to its new home. Banjo is not perfect, but it's darn close. And it's beautiful to look at. Every time I take it out to play it I'm more concerned about dropping it or scratching the finish than I am about making music. Hopefully someone will take it off my hands and make a lot of noise with it. thank you for considering my auction. Here is a response I sent to an ebay member regarding the condition of the banjo. Please review the photos which accompany the auction listing as they are part of the description. If you are looking for a perfect condition banjo then you should not bid on this auction. This banjo has been played and, while it is in very good condition, it has seen some use. I just checked the ebay listings for the OT800 and there is one listed for $899 plus shipping that is described as 'mint'. If you are looking to spend less for a very nice OT800 and can overlook a couple imperfections, please consider buying this one. If playing a banjo with a couple minor flaws will bother you, please don't bid. This was my response: The little ding in the scoop is the only thing I can see. It's a used banjo and I have played it occasionally. When I purchased it the instrument was not sold as a 'factory second' or a 'B' instrument. It would benefit from a cleaning / polish. There is one small scratch in the finish on the bass side of the heel about 1/8 inch long which would be consistent with a banjo that has seen some use. I do not see anything else. It's a nice banjo that will shine up nicely. There are signs of use on the head. It is not an instrument that I would classify as 10/10 brand new condition but it's pretty close. |
