We're moving so we have to part with our 1921 Steinway & Sons Vertigrand Piano, serial number 205689 K. As you can see from the photos, this piano is in gorgeous condition. The piano BENCH was owned by Joe Perry (yes, of Aerosmith) and is manufactured by Paul L. Jansen & Sons. The piano is a rare piano, the Vertegrand was discontinued after the Great Depression and a similar, but newly-named model reappeared in 1982, the historical appreciation of Steinways, e.g., 50 year-old Steinways command a price more than nine times its original cost). This well kept piano would be a gorgeous addition to any stately home. Please feel free to reach out to us with questions or if you would like to take a look at it. Don't hesitate to make us an offer! We have changed this listing from Pick-Up Locally to working with the buyer if the buyer wants the piano shipped. We will not pay shipping costs, that is the responsibility of the buyer. PLEASE NOTE: We had a piano appraiser come down on 8/9/16 to look at the piano. It has not been refurbished since it was bought in 1994. His comments were that the outside of the piano is gorgeous and is a beautiful piece and because it wasn't ornate, it would fit into different decor very easily. He said regarding the inside, the piano was actually in pretty good shape but that the Hammer Action components definitely need replacing. The key striking is sluggish because of those components. He said that would run about $2k to replace that. As far as the rest: ·        Original wires and pins ·        Replaced hammer head (not Steinway) ·        Replaced dampers (not Steinway) ·        The key tops have been replaced which is not a bad thing because even though its a Steinway, they didn't use a top quality ivory back then then on the keys and the keys wore down easily. ·        Refinished cabinet ·        Sound board good A LITTLE BIT of INTERESTING BACKGROUND ON THIS PIANO FROM WIKIPEDIA:
The Model K or "Vertegrand" is an upright piano made by Steinway & Sons.
The Steinway Vertegrand, also known as the Model K, was introduced in 1903 at a cost of $500 USD[1] (approximately US$12,000 in 2013). The name "Vertegrand" displayed along the top of the iron frame reflects the instrument's size relative to Steinway's lineup; at 52"/132cm it is smaller than the 54.3"/138cm "Upright Grand" scale (Model I in New York; Model R in Hamburg) introduced in 1894 but larger than the 49"/125cm scale that would become the Model V.
