EDP Electronic Dream Plant Wasp Delux, very rare. Sorry there is a lot of text but please read it as there is a lot of important info in it.If you win this item message me before you pay, thanks. Apparently “it is rumoured” that there were only 80 of these made, hence their scarcity.Such is their rarity that the last one of these sold for £4012.00, I kid you not, see picture of listing.I bought this one new from Chris Hugget, designer of the Wasp, personally back in the late seventies along with a few other bits and bobs and later an OSCar.As the fans and purists will observe I have modified it!During the financial difficulties of E.D.P. the company was re-formed and they sought to upgrade the instruments. This mostly involved putting them in cheap, tacky boxes but the best thing they did was to add a real, three octave keyboard. However, despite the fact there was now a handy little panel to the left of the new keyboard they omitted to use it.So why didn’t they, at least, put the pitch bend and modulation controls there? This was such an obvious mistake I quickly decided to correct it!I have put an additional link socket, auxiliary socket, volume and modulation pots and a pitch bend slider in the side panel.I have also added a selector switch above the frequency control in the filter section connected to an additional jack socket on the back panel, this allows you to control the filter frequency with a simple, volume type foot pedal. Mucho expresseevo!I can’t remember for sure but I think I only gigged it a few times, it has spent the rest of its life in a smoke and mostly pet free house (do tropical fish count?)It has had very little use in the last ten years so, as you would expect, some of the pots are a bit scratchy and the pitch slider is stiff, some regular use and maybe a little Servisol switch cleaner will bring them back to life. There are a few, minor cosmetic scuffs and, not withstanding my modifications, the instrument is in good physical shape. All the notes play and functions work, I’d forgotten just howfun, fat and squelchy the sounds on the Wasp are!It will come with 6 x C size re-chargeable batteries. I may consider a buy it now.The start price may seem high but I believe it reflects the price of the last one sold and the fact that mine is not in original, factory condition. There is no reserve.Postage may seem a little high but think of the insurance cost, If it works out less I will refund the difference. You can, of course, collect yourself.Message me before you bid if you are outside the UK, I will post to other countries but it will be expensive. Also message me if you have any questions, text or call Mike on 07710 312989.This item may be advertised elsewhere so I reserve the right to end the listing at any time.Thank you for reading.
On 02-Mar-17 at 18:23:49 GMT, seller added the following information:It would appear I have grossly underestimated the insurance cost of posting the Wasp. With UK postage at £40 it will effectively be un-insured.Because there are bids on it eBay will not allow me to adjust the shipping options.Collection only is now preferred.Mike.
