Beautiful fender 400 pedal steel guitar, dating back to 1958-1962. 8 strings and in almost all original condition. There aren't many late 50's/early 60's Fenders available at this sort of price - it's both a highly playable instrument and a good investment piece. It comes with the original tweed case, which is not in pristine condition but is super-rare and solid. The cream finish was only available in the first four years of production (1958-1962); from late 62-63, the standard finish reverted to sunburst. I bought this a while ago with the idea I would learn to play. However, I just haven't got around to spending the serious time with it that it deserves and am having more fun with the regular guitar than I have in years - so time to let someone else enjoy it! As I mentioned above, the condition is virtually all original and is mainly in good condition with elements in very good condition. The one non-original part is the board to which the pedals are mounted, which has either been replaced or painted over with white paint. The cream body is in good condition, although there are a few dings - nothing structural but worth noting. The chrome tailpiece area and the metal tuners & tuner plate are all in very good condition. The legs (screw in), levers and pedals are all in good condition. The mechanics work well, although they do benefit from an occasional spray of wd40 to keep them loose and squeak free. The presence of the tweed case is highly unusual. It's worn and one of the catches is broken but it's solid and a lovely piece of history to go with a lovely instrument. I'm willing to ship throughout Europe - please contact me if you'd like a quote. It's pretty heavy, just to forewarn you! Please remember that this is a vintage instrument and is for sale as is - please ask any questions before you buy. Returns accepted if you feel the item is not received as described.
