This is a vintage Olds Recording trombone, the R 20 with flat wrap f attachment . It is dual bore (.495/.510) with a 8 1/2 inch "Rey-o-loy" brass bell, Ser # 256xxx, putting its manufacturing date at sometime soon after July, 1958, in Fullerton Ca.
In 1958 Olds sold this horn as a bass trombone. The "relatively large" dual bore and the f attachment gives you a full range tenor trombone with access to the full bass register (pedal g anyway on up) This is a great sounding horn in all registers and transitions well between Bb and F.
The hand slide operates perfectly and has the ribbed inner slide tubes unique to Olds trombones of that era. Tuning slides also move freely. The rotary valve is smooth and quiet. Slide and bell serial numbers match.
Comes with original olds "Stone Case" hard case and cleaning rod and 3 mouthpieces
