Description

A 1962 Gretsch Anniversary guitar.  This is an original finish guitar with the hi-lo-tron pickup.  It's 99% original and is in excellent condition.  This guitar plays great and has very low action.  The truss rod works and the neck is straight.  The frets have plenty of life left in them.  All of the parts are original except for one of the bridge thumbwheels.  The non-original thumbwheel was made from two old German WWII coins glued together.  It is just the right size and it functions beautifully.  The neck has been re-set.  The neck is solidly on and it plays beautifully.  There is a black little touch up paint at the neck joint cracks and where the epoxy is over the mounting screw.  It needed a neck set badly and the repair was 100% successful.  The rest of the finish looks great with only a few nicks and dings here and there.  The pickup has a small spacer under it to get it closer to the strings.  You can take it out, but it makes the pickup a little bit louder.  No sticker on the inside of the F hole.  The pot dates to 1962.  The electronics are all original and sound great.  The tone selector switch offers some different sounds, but I prefer the open one with more treble.  The original case has been re-glued.  The interior was coming unglued from the exterior.  It looks and functions great now.  Inside the case is one of the strap buttons and part of the other.  I think this type of strap button sucks and I would just put different ones on.  The guitar is also missing the pickguard.  In all, this is a great guitar.  Sounds great, plays great, looks great.  I just have too many guitars or else I would keep this gem.  Buyer pays $30 shipping.  International buyers pay $60-100.  Sorry, but the post office keeps jacking up their shipping prices.  -Fred.
