This is a very collectible model, as you probably know, in a very desirable color. The original hard shell case is a big bonus, too. The body is like a 335 but slightly smaller, though not as small as the AM series or a 336 or 339. Check sites like Ibanezcollectors to learn more about these very versatile and much prized semihollow guitars.)There have been two changes made to this guitar over the years but none that would prevent the guitar from being restored to original specs: the pickups and tuners are not original. (Nor are the original pickups and tuners available from me. I don't have them.). Aside from that, the guitar is all original. The pickups are a chrome-covered, 4-wire Lord of the Blues set from Guitarforce. If you are not familiar with these pickups you are in for a treat. Really. I have tried all the boutique pickups and none sound as sweet and rich as these, and they are a perfect match for this guitar. The tone controls are push-pull switches. The tone control for the neck pickup gives you fat and well defined series (std. humbucker) and gorgeous 3D single-coil tones. The bridge pickup gives you sweet and clear series and parallel (humbucking but quasi-single coil) tones. The tuners are Sperzel locking tuners. The binding has yellowed some but has not checked or cracked. This is a 36-year-old guitar, and there are a few minor dings that you will have to look for to find. I don't think they show up in the pictures. It has the usual finish crack at the heel joint. The joint itself is solid. Overall, the condition of this guitar is excellent. The frets have some wear but are very playable. The neck is straight and everything works as it should, including the truss rod.You could easily restore this guitar all-original if you are a collector. If you are a player, you will might very well want to keep it the way it is... which is awesome.I am selling this and an Ibanez AM200. I have regrets but also too many guitars, too little space, and a kid in college. A marred, non-collectible AS200, equipped with Sperzels and Lord of the Blues pickups.... will have to take the place of both.
