Here is your opportunity to own a super-rare, USA-built, red Steinberger XL2 bass. Only a very small handful of original Steinberger basses were produced in any colors besides black and white, so this is an exceedingly rare find. This bass was restored and set-up by Jeff Babicz, who was the former head of production at the Steinberger Sound factory in Newburgh, N.Y. Jeff refretted the neck, disassembled, cleaned and lubricated the bridge, and serviced the electronics. According to some of the original factory employees, a few small batches of red Steinberger guitars and basses were built, but in our experience, they are extremely rare birds by any definition. Jeff''s fretwork is legendary, as he ran the fretting department at the Steinberger factory in Newburgh for many years, and Jeff's abilities in Steinberger restoration are breathtaking. Now that this restoration work has been completed, this incredible bass should need no any further attention for the next 25 years.A perfect playing bass that's been serviced by the world's top Steinberger tech, it now plays and performs as well as (or probably better than) the day that it first left the factory.
