This is a vintage (serial number 543532) Holton H-179 "Farkas" Double French Horn. This instrument was developed and designed with the help of  Philip Farkas. It is a solid nickel silver Kruspe wrap symphonic double horn. It is in very good condition, and plays very well. The valves move well with good compression and the slides all move of course. As for the aesthetic condition of this horn, there are a few small pings, and some scratching and etching throughout the horn, particularly on the bell flare. The valve caps are also missing a small amount of playting. The engraving on the bell reads "Holton Elkhorn Wis." and the leadpipe reads "H179". The minor imperfections are visible in the pictures, and none of them affect the playability of the horn. This instrument has been professionally cleaned in our shop, and repaired to full playability. This horn is not lacquered; therefore fingerprints should be wiped off after use if the player wishes for the horn to stay as shiny as it is now; if they are not wipes off then the horn will develop a lovely patina. This instrument comes with a somewhat worn hardshell case, and a mouthpiece in good condition.
