Here for sale we have a really beautiful early 70s Premier in Golden Sun. This has been an on/off gigging set of mine for a number of years and has been babied somewhat. They will do pretty much anything asked and sound fantastic tuned up or down. Coming from a golden era of Premier production you don't see complete sets of this quality showing up very often, people tend to hold on to them! I am however under pressure from She to "rationalise" my collection so here we go ... Full spec ...20x14 Bass drum. 3ply mahogany with solid beech rerings. Eight Sydney Opera House lugs, sixteen cast Ls and claws. Disappearing long spurs and spigot mount for ear trumpet arm. Cymbal arm mount block, coated Ambassador to batter and smooth white Everplay with new logo affixed to resonant.16x15 Floor tom. 3ply mahogany with solid beech rerings. Sixteen SOH lugs, slot headed tension bolts all round. Cast streamline hoops and damper, new rubbers to legs. Used Pinstripe to batter and clear single ply to reso.14x14 Floor tom. 3ply mahogany with solid beech rerings. Sixteen SOH lugs, slot headed tension bolts all round. Cast streamline hoops and damper, new rubbers to legs. Used Pinstripe to batter and Everplay to reso.12x8 Ride tom. 3ply mahogany with solid beech rerings. Six SOH lugs, slot headed tension bolts all round. Cast streamline hoops and damper, spigot mount for tom arm. Used Pinstripe to batter and generic Ambassador clear to reso head.This is a completely original set, no modifications have been made to it at all. Both Golden Sun and its sister wrap Silver Star are notorious for their fragility. Its a foil over paper laminate and as such is very susceptible to scrapes and rubs. This set has not avoided some of these over its last 40something years of life. That said there are no area of large scale damage other than to the rear of the 12, snare rash here has left a section exposed to the wood. I have added a photo of this damage. Other than that the chromework shows the usual small pitting commensurate with the age of the drums. Please peruse the photos at your leisure ...Included in this sale are the four drums (20/16/14/12) ONLY and all other items (ie snare/hardware/cymbals) are shown for illustrative purposes only and are NOT FOR SALE. I will post these drums to anywhere in the known world, they will have to be consigned in two boxes due to weight and safety restrictions ...
