Made for sale through Sears and Roebuck, Silvertone is one of the most recognizable brands in the history of electric guitar, with a list a mile long of who's who musicians that owned them and attribute them to their early playing and development. This is the full scale version of the often loved 3/4 sized 1448, and is a truly substantial guitar. Tonally very open and honky, in a way only these old lipstick pickups can sound. The neck is thin and fast playing, with a great in hand shape that doesn't slow you down but still something to dig into. Cosmetically in good condition, there are dings and scratches across the body, some discoloration on the tape binding, and paint wear on some corners. There are a few bigger scratches along the neck and divots and dings on the back of the body. The neck is straight and action is at a great medium to low currently. These are beloved relics of the past that still serve excellent functionality, and this is very clearly the most solid vintage Silvertone we have ever had our hands on. This is a special one, with great tone and excellent playability.
