Vintage Fender Telecaster/Esquire Guitar Body Early '60's PROJECT

Up for auction is a modified early '60's Fender Telecaster/Esquire body...modifications include Stratocaster-like contours (ala Jeff Beck Esquire), a crude route for a middle pickup, enlarged neck pickup route, and last but not least, a filled in hole south of the bridge, filled in with some kind of plywood material. Side contours of course have been altered, being rounder in areas near the major added contours. This body is a 'project' cosmetically, but can be used as-is for a working guitar as the neck pocket has not been altered, nor bridge placement screw holes. Note the 2 plugged router holes in the back where Fender attached the body template, yet another way to ID this as a genuine Fender body. This body also appears to be a rare one-piece body, as most are 2.
Also, as I was sanding off some of the non-professional paint jobs I discovered the sides (that originally were always painted thicker & opaque so final sanding/buffing that was done in the factory didn't go through the paint) still have original blonde paint left! Note: The gray paint is on top of the blonde, Fender never used gray under-coat...this guitar has been mostly re-painted red since I've owned it.
A good wood worker could refill the ugly parts or just paint the body an opaque color...this was a functioning guitar for years, with 3-pickups 'Nashville-style'... The body I can only describe as 'medium weight' (no proper scales) not feather light but not heavy either. I've owned the body for 30 years...When I originally got the body I was told it was from an early '60's Esquire but there is no way I can verify that. My experience (over 50 years) with Fender guitars tells me it's an original, 1-piece Fender factory made body that has been slightly changed/abused through out it's life time. The string ferrules I would say are probably not original. Just dropped the 'buy it now' price!I've up-dated photos & changed description to 'early '60's because of the 8-hole pick-guard holes.
