1998 Epiphone 1958 Flying V Korina guitar. comes wit non original flying V case.Bought it in 1999 had it ever since now 18 years later I'm letting it go ( too much gear as the story goes)OK so I did what everyone wants to do with one of these guitars here is the breakdownIt had good wood maple neck, rosewood board, korina body and it looked like a $10 k guitar so I kept thatthe guitar sounded good in the bedroom as is but . . . when I took it out to crank it with my band thru a vintage 50 watt Marshall it would not keep up with the drummer and bass in my Power Trio.-I installed a Seymour Duncan 59 Neck and Duncan custom shop JB which is the Alan Holdsworth model.at that time I shielded the cavity and pickguard with copper foil too (see photos) - I installed Gold Grovers and schaller strap locksat this point it sounded great but didn't play and ring all notes clear like my high end USA guitars-I took it to my main Luthier when I lived in Tampa (Ben Chafin of Chafin Custom Guitars formerly from the Plant City FL Dean Custom Shop - even has a dean guitar named after him) and commissioned him to install 22 Jumbo Stainless Frets and a new Bone Nut and set the guitar up for ,011 - ,052" strings tuned down 1/2 step from A=440Hz. now its a rock machine and the stainless frets just do not seem to wear at all.. . . having a skilled luthier re-fret one of these guitars is the key to unleashing their potential for playing in a rock band. Pickups alone didn't do it for me.I use this guitar to play UFO/Michael Schenker songs and my favorite is rock bottom - now it looks and sounds the part***no international bidders *** buyer pays shipping will properly pack and ship fedex ground to lower 48 onlyask questions before buying
