You are looking at a stunning Gibson ES125t 1961/62 Venetian Cutaway Cherryburst Semi-acoustic guitar!This fabulous blues, slide and jazz guitar (is a bit live for rock methinks) is in good all original condition with scatter wound p90s, the neck pickup of which is the most glorious sound. It has a florentine cutaway and is in Gibson cherry burst. Thom Yorke of Radiohead plays the single pickup not cutaway version. It is a light maple bodied - giving it a responsive yet warm sound, mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard delight with beautiful checking and is all original (including case) with a rosewood bridge. Note: very early in its life it had a neck re-set. This is not uncommon for early Gibson and Gretsch semis. This must have been done very early because the checking has happening on top of the two pins that were used. The neck is rock solid and i have never had a problem with it. Also note that the bridge is for a wound third string so, tuning isn’t as easy on a plain third. Replacement saddles are easy to get and inexpensive. It is a true piece of history that sounds incredible and for a 55 year old guitar is in great shape with the expected wear on the top of the headstock There is also some fracturing around the input socket and the finish has split on the binding near the bridge - nothing significant though and available for inspection Sydney or Katoomba . $5,500 ONOWill post internationally. Will get costs inc insurance and quote to buyer, who is responsible for all postage costs. With domestic rates I will get cost price. FREE packing.
