For sale is a 2005 Paul Reed Smith 20th Anniversary McCarty Soapbar in very good to excellent condition. It's a handsome guitar, with a flamed maple top, , rosewood finger board with abalone bird inlays, and a gleaming finish. The sound is beautiful, with a ringing clarity that's hard to describe. When I bought this, the bridge was oxidized, and I couldn't polish it on a buffing wheel because it was winter, so I put on a brand new PRS factory bridge (US made). The knobs, switch and wiring is new, too. The coloration is a very slightly reddish brown with lighter brown striping in the maple. It's not a bright red or yellow as the photos might show. There are a few slight pimples in the finish, which I tried to capture in the photo above around the switch and lower pickup. There's also three spots along the edge of the top on the right side where the guitar had been dinged. I touched those up as best as I could, although someone with more skill could improve them. I've detailed them above. There's some unevenness in the finish on the headstock that's only visible in certain light, and I've shown that in a photo above as well. The case looks like a G&G with the stitched leather handle, but it doesn't have a G&G plate on it. The case has some minor pricks in the black finish, but no major scratches or gouges. I try to show the stuff I sell as honestly as I can.You won't find many like this.
