This is a 1987 Casio PG380 in good working condition ( all and that means ALL capacitors replaced by a qualified technician see photo) owned from new by me.There are some minor signs of wear on the back and body from play but all parts except capacitors are original and undamaged. There is a small amount of corrosion in various places and the black finish has worn from some of the pick guard screw heads from cleaning. The guitar comes with 3 sound cards, the U S, European, and High Powered Collection( getting quite hard to find)
Each ROM card adds 128 synth tones.  Only one ROM card can be installed at a time.  With the built in 64 tones, that leaves 192 tones readily available from the control panel.
Comes with a Sam Ash gig bag.
Rare to find in fully functioning order and in this condition, this is the ultimate guitar synth combo. As played by Eric Clapton, Stanley Jordan and JJ Cale etc. One of Clapton’s Sold for US$ 10,980 at Bonhams Auction house. ( same model) Powered by 9 volt battery or  AC-5 power adapter, which I've included!
The guitar body was made by Ibanez with the onboard electronics by Casio. The parameters are controlled both on the back of the guitar via panels of microswitches and on the front by the control panel. The action/setup is extremely good and and a pleasure to play, the pickups are fully selectable between 1 humbucker and 2 single coils with a coil tap. Gotoh Floyd Rose tremolo and locking nut. An excellent guitar in its own right, let alone the incredible technology package seamlessly added by the synth.Original instructions for operation available as a PDF download from me.
CASIO PG-380 VINTAGE RARE SYNTHESIZER / MIDI GUITAR Sounds amazing with very very low latency.  Faster tracking than the Roland VG guitar synth.
Casio PG-380 Synth Guitar! These guitars were made by Ibanez for Casio using high end components and is a great ‘strat-like’ guitar even without the added synthesizer electronics.  PG-380 guitars sold for $1500 when new in 1987.  What makes this guitar unique is that you do not need any external electronics or computer to generate the tones.  The tones are internally generated and go straight to your amp.  Unlike the Roland synth guitars that require a 13 pin connector to connect to external electronics and then out to your amp.
The PG-380 was way ahead of its time when first introduced. Built-in Hex pickup. MIDI capable. Onboard synth tones (64), expandable with RAM / ROM cards. On the front, there is a synth control panel (see photo).
On the panel there are 12 small buttons for controlling patches and octave shifts, a 2-digit LED display, and two LED's for the built-in tuner. Strat-wise there is a five position pickup selector (1 humbucker and 2 single coil pickups) and controls for tone, guitar volume and synth volume. Apart from a normal 5 pin DIN MIDI-OUT connector there is one mono output for guitar only and a stereo out for guitar + synth. The synth can be set to send on six different MIDI channels, one for each string, or everything over one channel (So, you can do the Kramer Ripley thing with it). Tracking is very good, and shockingly good with bending notes. The backside is full of electronics and a slot for the ROM cards.  The back also has access to configuration switches and to gain pots for balancing the output of individual strings from the HEX pickup.
Includes the AC-5 power supply - uses AA batteries and all electronics are working, and put out some very cool sounds. This guitar  works as it should, though the body has dings and wear in the  condition as pictured.  The guitar itself is very nice and playable with Gloss Black finish, bolt-on Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard, and a double-locking Gotoh Floyd Rose style tremolo.     Neck is straight, with fast, low, buzz-free action.  The string length intonation is spot on.
