Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome. You are looking at a truly special Electro Voice V-2 "Velocity" Ribbon microphone in excellent working condition complete with a newer 2 foot cable. One of the largest mics ever made by E.V and certainly one of the most unique and collectible. I should start by explaining that this is a "Farabee special". One in a while I get my hands of an old ribbon mic that is so physically beautiful that I feel the need to send it off to Georgia to have my friend Michael Farabee work his magic on it. Doesn't happen often but this V-2 is a prime example. Michael Farabee has been modifying ribbon mics for years now and he has done about two dozen for me. You can find his videos on Youtube and his work is top notch. I can provide you with contact info if you'd like to know more about his work on this mic? This gorgeous old V-2 was rebuilt and sounds fantastic with a strong signal and lots of warm rich bass. It' has a new motor, magnets, ribbon, etc... This is a studio quality mic that will be greatly appreciated for broadcasting and singing purposes. It will help if you have an equalizer to adjust the tone to your personal needs. The V-2 series is about 3 times the size of the much smaller V-1 produced by Electro Voice. This early V-2 is quite different than the 2nd generation that came along in the mid 1940's as seen in pic # 2. This V-2 measures 7 1/2 inches tall X 3 1/2 inches wide. The painted body shows zero wear as seen in the pictures provided and certainly the nicest I have ever come across. An absolute gem. The E.V label looks fantastic...brand new really. The V-2 sits on it's original yoke / swivel and it works perfectly. Tightens nicely and keeps the mic at the desired angle. Both thumb screws look fantastic. Both front and rear chrome screens are free of any heavy tarnishing. All original components (except for the inside new components) including original screws. I took a pic of the mic against the light (pic # 12) to see the inside. The screens do come off of course. I would suggest using a pop filter in front of the mic if you want a cleaner sound as there is no cloth or screen inside the mic over the ribbon. The threading for the stand is perfect. Nothing stripped. Mic is solid with no loose parts. This mic would do any vintage microphone collection justice. A newer 2 foot cable is included in the sale that is soft, pliable and has the balanced male XLR end connector used with most all modern audio equipment. Cosmetically it's a 9 on a scale of 1 - 10. MICROPHONE STAND IS NOT PART OF THIS SALE...FOR DISPLAY PURPOSES ONLY. As with all my other vintage microphones... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The return shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. International buyers are welcome as well. BUYER MUST PAY WITHIN 24 HOURS or will lose rights to this item, unpaid item report will be filed and will be relisted. If you don't intend on buying this...do not commit to buy please. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
