This is a 2008 Fender Classic Series '72 Telecaster Deluxe in Walnut in excellent condition. I recently purchased it as a backup but can't really justify keeping it financially so unfortunately I've decided to sell it. Aside from some pick marks and a few light scratches on the pickguard it really is in excellent condition. No dings, scratches or chips on the body and most of the neck. The fretboard shows some light wear but the frets themselves are in fantastic shape with no worn or flat spots and plenty of life left. The back of the neck is almost perfect and looks new. There have been some upgrades to the guitar including 500k CTS pots all around brightening up the pickups with some new definition and clarity not heard with the original 250k ones. The tone caps were also replaced with .022uf Orange Drop caps and treble bleed cap/resistors installed on both volume pots so it doesn't get muddy when you turn them down. The output jack was also replaced with a brand new Switchcraft one which is tighter and more secure than the stock one.The stock saddles have been replaced with Gotoh solid steel block style saddles similar to the ones found on the original vintage 70's models also giving it more sustain and better looks in my opinion than the stock bent steel ones that should remain on a Strat. The guitar has been fully setup with nice low action and a brand new set of D'Addario 10's (EXL110) and plays and sounds great. Also included is a gorgeous Fender G&G Deluxe Hard case in black tweed with black leather ends and red poodle plush interior. The case has some scuffs but overall in very good fully functional condition and also includes the key and original literature and hang tags for the guitar. Get this guitar with a hard case and all the upgrades you'd want to do to a new one for less!Below are the details of the guitar from Fender's website:CLASSIC TELE® DELUXE STYLE Adventurous guitarists started hot-rodding their Telecasters in the late ’60s and early ’70s with big-sounding humbucking pickups that lent new style and swagger to rock music. The Classic Series ’72 Telecaster Deluxe brings it all back as an authentic evocation of its early-’70s ancestor, including dual Fender Wide Range humbucking pickups, a large pickguard, Stratocaster® headstock and bridge, cool skirted amp control knobs and more. A favorite of players from ’70s rock to modern U.K. alt-rock and much more.
