Description Type: Bass Brand: Fender
Vintage amp with an interesting history, selling it for a friend, who has owned it since the late 60s when he bought it on Beale street, uploading tons of pics, so going to be editing the listing going forward. This amp is owned by the bassist from Bluesology and Hookfoot, and has shared stages with Jimmy Hendrix and Elton John. Here's an interview with the guy mentioning Hendrix: http://www.terrascope.co.uk/Features/Hookfoot.htmYou can look up Bluesology and Hookfoot on wikipedia, and see the sort of people he was playing with. This was his small rig, and he also used an Acoustic 360 stack, which was impractically large, so this rig was gigging up until ten years ago when he was still playing in pub bands. The Jensen speakers in the cab originally couldn't cope with bass guitar, so were replaced with Goodmans, which have a cleaner tone and more power handling, so were suitable for gig volumes. I'll get him to write a letter or similar giving the history of the amp to go with it, there is a story to how he got it. Most technical stuff should be covered by the ton of pics on photobucket. The lamp on it is green, which apparently has some significance, and the styling is transitional, with the black faceplate and tolex, but still with the white knobs from the blonde era.
Obviously this is a heavy lump, but I can have it couriered, would massively prefer collection though. I can also do international shipping, but if you want international shipping, please get in touch with plenty of time so I can sort an estimate, but ideally, arranging your own courier would be best, I'm happy to wrap it and meet them for collection, seems it works out cheaper that way, and if it gets trashed on the way, you have the contract and the evidence.
