I bought this for a nostalgia project and soon after acquired another complete and stock model 5, so I no longer need this one. If you know these guitars, you know that they are some of the finest to come out of Japan, certainly the best line Charvel/Jackson ever made outside of their US shops.The Model 5 has always been my favorite of the series, and I've owned several over the years.I purchased the body and as many original parts as I could acquire, the only thing missing is a nut to get it together. The electronics are all there, including the mid-boost pcb board. The only thing that needs to be connected is the pickups, which are the original USA made Jacksons. The wiring was carefully marked prior to install, so connection should be as easy as heating up your soldering iron.The body has several dents, dings and scuffs, but is in good shape for a 30yr old guitar. The pearl white metal flake finish has yellowed quite a bit to a nice vintage creme. There is a finish crack on the back of the neck behind the locking nut mount. I was assured from the guy I got it from that this was nothing to worry about, and as far as I can tell he is correct, as it appears to only go through the clear coat and looks like it was probably caused by a hanger. That is merely from my own observation, as I have not had it checked by a pro. There is also a line of finish checking around the tuners on the front of the headstock, which can be seen in the pics. This is all pretty typical for a players guitar of this age.The scarf joint is a little weird looking (check the upper neck pics), it looks and feels as if there was too much glue applied to the joint at the factory, causing it to be slightly raised under your fingers. That's just a guess on my part, as I've never seen anything like it before. Aside from that, the neck appears to be fine. Again, as much as I can verify as I've never had it strung up.Included parts are listed below.

It featured thin profile 25.5" scale maple neck and body, rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets, and mother of pearl dot inlays. In early 1986, the guitar was offered with a Kahler 2300 series Pro tremolo with steel roller saddles, and Jackson J80C pickups with an active mid-boost control (Jackson JE-1200). Other controls include master volume and tone controls, and a five way switch that provided coil tapping. By late 1986, the Model 5 had a Kahler 2315 Standard series tremolo with roller saddles. Larger pickup covers appeared by late 1986. After 1986, the Kahler was replaced with a non-recessed, licensed Jackson JT-6 tremolo that was similar to a Floyd Rose. The color options for this guitar were cobalt blue, red, black cherry, pearl white, and black. The Model 5 is one of the rarer Charvel imports.
