Hello and welcome to the House of Chrome. You are looking at a rare and unique 1920's era Lifetime Corp model 50 carbon microphone. This was a very common design for it's time and it comes with the all chrome desk stand. This classic style of microphone was made by several American companies before disappearing altogether around the late 1930's. It should be noted that while this microphone does work...the element is not a carbon element that came with the mic. It was replaced with a crystal element many years ago but seems to have been done so very professionally. This spring mic is in very good physical condition considering it's age as seen in the pictures provided. The actual mics chrome body is in really beautiful condition. There are no signs of corrosion or heavy scratches. The mics label has wear but is still completely legible. It has all of it's original components (except the crystal element) and the original 8 springs are included which is a real rarity as most of these mics are either missing a few springs or they have been replaced completely. I would rate this mic a conservative 7 on a scale of 1 -10. The mic comes with an all metal ring and polished chrome finish. The original Lifetime Corp label is still present as well which is pretty unheard of. Again, zero corrosion and the chrome glows. The original desk stand is period to the mic and looks great. You'll notice in pic # 11 the stand can come off if needed? It appears to be solid brass with polished chrome finish. The ring with stand is a total of 9 inches in height X 6 inches wide X 3 3/4 inches deep. The mic was wired with a 4 foot cable that has a 2 pin male connector on the end. The cable is soft, pliable and free of any damage.
