If you're looking at this, you know what a vintage Korg polysynth is and know why you're looking for one. You're likely looking for either a 61 or a PolySix. And unless you want to pay another $500 and deal with unstable oscillators, perhaps you don't need the knobs so much. Maybe you were considering a Juno, but honestly between U-He Diva, TAL-U-No-62, the Roland plug-outs and boutiques, the Juno sound is pretty easy to get. But nothing comes close to the vintage Korg sound all over half the classic house tracks, and everyone from Keith Emerson to Global Communication to Tears for Fears. So I'm selling it hard here, right? Sure, because as much as I love it, I had to move my studio into a room 1/2 its size and I don't have room for it. Every synth is great, but this one has to go.This is the nicest Korg Poly-61 you can get. Here's why:Fully restored and upgraded this fall by Perfect Circuit Audio, where they replaced the caps, modified the battery to a removable slot to prevent the dreaded Korg battery board death, and installed the Tubbutec ModyPoly modificiation, which adds a power arpeggiator mode, midi control of arpeggiator click, midi control of filter, pitch bend, midi output for chord mode, new LFOs, and much more not available on the original Poly-61MCustom gray walnut wood ends by Allen Coppock of SynthSpa — he's the only one who offers custom ends for the 61m and there as a 4 month wait on these. The Tubbutec mods add:Midi in + Midi out (better and more durable than the original 61M midi ports)Sustain Pedal inputAdditional play modes: 2 Voice, 3 Voice, Polychord, extended unison modeNew arpeggiator / sequencer mode: PowerarpAll functions are easily accessible via buttons: suitable for live useMidi controls arpeggiator clock, triggers the arp, filter, pitch bend * and moreMidi output of arpeggiator, chords and powerarp sequences or simple keypressesS/H LFO and fast triangular LFO for filterMidi channels and various other options can be configured without external toolsVery easy to install, no soldering required (a bit of soldering if you want midi controlled filter and pitch bend)High quality midi sockets and sustain pedal jackCondition:The wood sides are brand newThe internals are fully refurbished and functionalAll buttons, keys, and LCDs work perfectlyThe surface front panel and key tray has a few scratches and scuffs (see photos) but is overall in Very Good condition. There are no dents in the metal. I have provided high resolution photos to show the condition accuracyTerms of sale:In 2016 Ebay moved to a new model with Buyer Protection which allows a buyer to return an item if they feel it does not match the description. Therefore I am providing a fully accurate photo representation of the unit and confirmation of its full functionality at the time of shipping. I have also included a photo that shows the unit powered on displaying PS 61 in the LED on boot.
