1969 Ramirez 1A MT (Mariano Tezano) Classical Guitar

YOUTUBE SAMPLESDESCRIPTION
The guitar is a highly collectible instrument bearing the initial MT (Mariano Tezano) who was a master craftsman and probably the most sought-after luthier in the Ramirez shop. His guitars were in high demand by guitar greats like Segovia, Parkening and Liona Boyd. Dimensions: The guitar is a 664 mm. scale length with a 54 mm. nut width. Although anger scale instruments are generally more challenging to play this one is considerable easier to play. The action at the 12th fret on the bass side is about 4 mm and the action on the trebles side at the 12th fret is 3.4 mm with plenty of saddle to lower if desired.Physical Description: Cedar top and Brazl1an Rosewood. The condition of the guitar is commensurate with the years of being played in concerts. The guitar has 2 repaired cracks on the back (portrayed in pictures) and one incipient crack on the top (hairline) that, according to a repairman does not need to be addressed yet as it does not affect the sound or the integrity of the instrument. The neck is straight and fast with original Fustero tuners. Multiple scratches on the top and marks, the scars of a faithful warrior. These cosmetic issues do not bother me as I am most concern about the tonal qualities and playability of the instrument, which in both cases, are superb. The finish is the original finish; I did not want to refinish the guitar as that may affect its tone, which to me is everything. Sound Quality: Please listen carefully to the YouTube recordings of this guitar; no compression, EQ or anything added to the tone of the guitar. For those of you who may benefit from a verbal description, here it is. The guitar has great balance between the trebles and basses and there are no dead notes anywhere on the guitar. Unlike most cedar top instruments that sound somewhat murky and undefined, this guitar has great clarity resembling more of a spruce top instrument than a cedar. The trebles have incredible sustain with just the right amount of overtones that allows the tone to remain clear and not murky. The tone is thick, lush, and it has the wonderful blooming quality and does exactly what superb vintage Ramirez guitar should do. The guitar has superb projection, perfectly fit for any concert hall but also great detail and beauty that would make this an ideal guitar for studio recordings. BIDDING RULES
