This is a new mandolin with an old sound and look! This F style mandolin is an all solid wood instrument with a spruce top and flame maple back/sides. Our choice for anyone looking for an F style or someone who wants a little more than a beginner mandolin to start on. You seem to get a lot more volume and tone with the oil finish compared to most mandolins in the price point with the thick lacquer finish.
