Description Banjo Type: Tenor Banjo
A no name tenor banjo from the 1920's refurbished and rebuilt. It was taken apart, all the parts gone over. I kept what was still good and replaced the rest. It features:*Hand-Carved Resonator*Hand-carved neck and headstock*10,000 year old fossil mastodon headstock cover, fret markers, heel, saddle, and pot inlays*old growth Brazilian rosewood fretboard *1890's music lyre tailpiece *all cleaned up, metals all polished and straightenedThe neck is mahogany. The pot is poplar with mahogany veneer. The resonator is poplar with mahogany veneer. All the hand-carving was done by me as I am a professional Carver now for 20 years. The assembly, fretboard and set-up was done by a professional here in Oberlin, Ohio. It is a beautiful old instrument made better and new using our combined skills and talents. It is a one of a kind. The headstock bears my initials. Set up for GDAE Irish tuning at the moment, but easily tuned to CGDA or Chicago tuning. Martin tenor banjo strings. It is by no means perfect. There are a couple of cosmetic flaws because the original instrument was not perfect. It has a warm, woody tone and is a perfect example of how well built these instruments were. A combination of old and new, unique, different and ready to play.No international shipping because of the rosewood fretboard.
