Made in Japan by a solo builder with an over-active imagination, this instrument is made with care of the finest materials. Although there are many square edges, the corners are smooth, it's easy to hold, and the satin finish makes it feel smooth to the touch. Solid Hawaiian koa body, ebony bridge and fretboard, and a mahogany neck. The back is especially curly koa, with a white koa stripe that adds flair. The fretboard dots are multicolored Swarovski crystal, and the tuners are top-of-the-line Gotoh pegs. The sound is as rich and "ukulele-like" as a standard koa uke, and the compensated saddle assures that the intonation is spot-on.
