Serials appear to be 1k497 and 571t . H Bettoney and Carl Fischer importers. There are no existing key function issues, however pads and cork are needed in my opinion. 100 years old and will have scratches and finish defects undoubtedly .These were played professionally many moons ago and saw the light of day only recently after 40+ years of silence. Clean, polish wood and keys and make beautiful music again. Bores measured @14.7 mm' slightly less than expected 15 mm, perhaps that's within original spec. There is a very old repair of a crack on upper with no evidence of having failed on the Bettoney imported model. 3 mouth pieces and 2 ligatures included; H O'brien, Henry Selmer , France Table HS. One mouthpiece is unidentifiable brand, one ligature is marked France; included is a cover that looks period correct.. Composition of mouthpieces is undetermined but at least one sounds like wood but not guaranteed. Included is a couple cool old tins of grease (Adams and an Alcro,) plus a Royal Artist 3 reed from Bruno & Sons. I attempted to get an "expert" review of these instruments pre-purchase , but rather than getting a paid for evaluation , the "professional" tried, angrily to purchase and, when rebuffed asked me to leave rather than accept payment for evaluation. I have spent a couple weeks part time researching these and have never been more frustrated at the lack of definitive information on the net and my regular go-tos in Nashville and Memphis both threw their arms in air (String instruments guys, both awesome, credible and trustworthy but sadly. not reed pros). The hard, lined , leather wrapped case shows age but still functions effectively and closures and hinges operate correctly. We have many more pics that can be provided upon request.
