Here for sale is a special piece of jazz history! We are offering the vintage, handmade Guardala Studio alto saxophone mouthpiece that was owned and played by the great Julius Hemphill of the "World Saxophone Quartet". This piece measures at an .85 on my gauge and this is a simply remarkable player. It is completely original and in great shape. The tip, table and rails are al perfect. This piece is an early, 3 digit, handmade guardala and it was made for Julius as an artist piece. Dave put lots of extra work into this one and it has a beautiful full sound, unlike any other studio I've ever played. The piece is marked with with JH (Julius Hemphill) and Dg and the GSA (gold studio alto). This piece is completely original including the facing.
