I am selling my completely original Model 88 serial number 0173. I bought this new in 1990 at Rhythm City in Atlanta. I believe that location eventually became a Guitar Center. The Model 88 has an African Ribbon Mahogany body with a dark sunburst finish, a maple neck, a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, and a reverse headstock. All of the hardware is original including the Jackson Floyd Rose JT6 tremolo, and J90 pickup. This guitar probably has less than 200 hours of total playing time on it. I have had it stored in the hardshell case, which is included in this auction, for the last ten years. There are two extremely small dings, one at the very bottom of the headstock between the locking nut and first tuning key and the other at the rear lower edge of the body, both of which are shown in the included photographs. I am hoping to sell this to a collector who will maintain the originality of this very low production guitar. Only 1,000 were made of which 500 were for U.S. stores and the other 500 for international sales. The commonly accepted story is that a warehouse fire destroyed many of these before they ever made it to market. I have set the reserve price at $1,325 and really hate to let this guitar go.
