Offering a fabulous mandocello that was originally carved by the famed instrument maker, Robin Greenwood of England. Carved cedar top with a carved mahogany back. The sides are mahogany. K&K pickup. Rosewood bridge and fingerboard. 10 string, tuned E A G D C. This cittern was purchased from Greenwood in 1989. Signed 1987 #10. It was originally a 5 course cittern and was converted to a 5 course mandocello. It was converted to a mandocello by changing the guages of the strings by luthier Luke Wilson of Wolf Note Studio in Nevada City, California. It has been played professionally on stage for the last few decades. It has been babied and well maintained. Wolf Note Studio repaired two small stress cracks on the end and back-see photos. The sound is beautiful and rich. Mandocellos have such a unique sound that makes them a wonderful addition to a musical collection. There is no case. Guaranteed vintage & authentic.
