A fine antique french master violin made circa 1830, circle of François Breton.A fine and attractive antique french violin made circa 1830 by a master in the circle of François Breton. This exquisite instrument of the french school was made by a very talented maker. The choice of woods is exceptional, with a top mad of two parts of spruce which shows fine and regular grain lines, a fantastic back made of a single piece of highly flamed maple, with the curl dancing and irregular at the upper part, an horizontal at the center and lower parts. Th ribs and head are of the same wood. The head has been nicely grated on a new neck by a very talented restorer. The f holes are in the style of Didier Nicolas Aine or Jean-Baptiste Thouvenel. The varnish, of a wonderful golden colour, remembers strongly the one employed by François Breton at the same time in Mirecourt. The purfling is extraordinary, with beautiful bee stings on corners. A great french concert violin! The violin is in an excellent restored condition, with artistic repairs on the head and at the right part of the top. The instrument comes with a rectangular new case of quality. Insured shipping to EU $50 and US $75.Happy bidding !
