King 2B Liberty Professional Jazz TromboneFrom the HN White Company- the Best of King7 1/2 Inch Yellow Brass Bell.481 Bore on the inside of slide where it connects to bellGreat Slide ActionNice EngravingSerial Number - 412,XXX- 1960-The best of King Wonderful Red Alligator Leather Coffin CaseThis is a truly well preserved example of one of the most classic of jazz trombones. The 2B Liberty was the choice of many of the top artists of passed years and the 2B today continues to be the choice of top trombonists on the jazz side. The King Company has been a force in trombone manufacturing since around 1900. I actually have one of their trombones from 1911. The best of times for them was when it was the HN White Company and the late 50's to early 60's are when the trombones were truly legendary. 2B's were fairly small bore horns ideally suited for playing lead and into the highest registers with a fluid clear tone. Yellow brass bell warms and blends with a rich sound while the nickle slide helps it cut through the largest big band. This one came to me in very good shape- I had a couple small dents removed from the bell section. The slide was really good but I had it aligned anyway and it is now superb - fast free smooth and quiet- what you want a slide to be. No wear on the stockings. Lacquer finish overall is better than 95% as you can see from the pictures. It plays well and is a beauty with the engraving setting it off.Comes with King's famous coffin case - this one of the most special with red aligator leather. The dark ends of the case were a bit worn and have been cosmetically improved. Structurally it was and is in great shape. These have been know to sell on their own for $300. Comes with a Bach 12C mouthpiece - sure plays high easily but I prefer a bit larger -you should audition pieces and find your own best fit. This is a great chance to get a classic piece of trombone history that has many years of use left in it. It is beautiful to look at and plays as well as it looks.I will ship well packed to the lower 48 states for $55 and elsewhere for actual cost by US Postal Service - Japan and Europe should expect to pay about $100 for shipping - Australia about $120No Reserve or Buy It Now on this one - Auction will set the price and High Bidder wins it!!!
