For sale is a Gibson Les Paul Custom in Wine Red color from May of 1988 according to the serial number.  This amazing guitar has been played very little over the years and has mostly been kept in a home environment. This guitar has been owned by a single person for all these yearsl.  This guitar hasn't been to gigs, bars, etc.  It has only been used for home use.  According to my scale it weighs about 10 1/2 lbs.  Everything on the guitar is original from 1988 as it was when it left the Gibson factory.  Nothing has been added or taken away from this beauty.   As you can see from the photographs, the guitar is in good shape.  The frets are barely worn at all.  The guitar is set up with D'Addarios 10s.  Its been through a full set up, and it's ready to rock!  With the pictures I have posted I tried to show the crucial items for a 29 y/o guitar, namely the neck, frets, electronics, body condition, and playability.  Giving a 29 y/o guitar a quality rating can be a difficult task, but there are guidelines that should be used to communicate effectively.  Used gear conditions rated from high to low are: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor, and Non-Functioning.  This guitar falls in the Good category, which includes items that are in fine working order but have some visual imperfections here and there.  Below are the list of details important to know about this guitar.Neck:The truss rod works as it should.  You can dial in relief as needed.  I tried to show from the pics that the neck is very straight, although I have it set up with slight relief.  Some of the fretboard binding is a little scuffed below the toggle switch as shown in the pics.  This may buff out, but I didn't try to do that.  The neck has never been damaged or repaired at any time.Electronics:Everything works great with no shortages, etc.  The volume and tone controls for both pickups turn smooth and are crackle free when plugged up.  The toggle switch works appropriately too.  There is no loss of sound when switching between the pickups.Frets:The frets are in good condition.  There are no extraneous buzzes anywhere up and down the neck.  There is very little wear on the all important first few frets as shown in the pictures. They play well, and they feel smooth.  I took a picture with a straight edge to show the neck and fret levelness.Hardware:All hardware is intact and functional.  The gold hardware has faded in several areas as shown in the pics, (on the pickups for example).  I had to prioritize the 12 pics I could upload to eBay but if you would like more pics just let me know.  The tuners function very smoothly as well.  Body Condition:The body is a red wine color, and it is intact.  There are several "swirls" throughout the  guitar.  They are very hard to detect with a camera, but I did make a concentrated attempt to document them on the photographs.  There are several of what I would call dents on the body and neck too.  They are all photographed, and in actuality they are very few.  The most notable is at the rear side of the headstock where it is scuffed.  Please see photos  The photograph with my finger in it is of a little dent (very small) that was impossible to detect on photographs, despite different lighting attempts.  Other areas to note are under the pick guard and the back of the body.Playability:Playability is as good as any guitar I have ever owned, and that's saying a lot.  I have owned Fender Custom Shops, Gibson guitars, Suhr guitars, Hamer guitars, and Hahn guitars.  The guitar comes with the original Gibson branded carrying case.  No other items are suggested or implied.  I plan to have UPS do all the packaging on this one just to have all the bases covered and to have it arrive safely.  If you have any questions about this fine guitar, please let me know and I will get back with you very quickly.  Thank you very much!
