What makes this guitar special: This one looks like it was played for a spell in the late 60’s and then put away for an extended period. As far as wear goes, there isn’t much to speak of...the fingerboard and fingerboard edges look about as good as you can find, and if it weren’t for a few chips in the body binding due most likely to dryness with age, this one would be a 10/10 for collector quality. As it is, it’s one of the nicest playing vintage Gretsch’s you could hope to get your hands on, with a full sound and crisp, classic tone. It’s been professionally inspected and setup by our expert in-house luthier, and will arrive ready to impress you from the moment it hits your doorstep.Cosmetic condition: Exceptional shape for its age, with some light surface and handling scratches, a few dents and dings visible under particular lighting, some weather checking on the headstock, and a handful of cracks and chips in the body binding. Beyond that, there is just some oxidation on the hardware, the common slight seam separation on the back of the headstock (with much less separation than normal), and the typical crack around the mounting screw of the pickguard. For its age, this one is an 8/10, with 10/10 playability.Body: Double bound hollow maple body in walnut finish with dual simulated f-holes, string mute, and gold Gretsch Chet Atkins Country Gentleman pickguard. Compensated rocking bar bridge with floating ebony base and Bigsby tremolo tailpiece.Weight: 8 lb, 4 ozNeck: Medium profile maple neck with double bound rosewood fingerboard, red side dots, and pearl thumbnail inlays. Bound headstock with pearl Gretsch logo and “Chet Atkins Country Gentleman” badge. 1 11/16” nut width with zero fret. 24.6” scale length. Grover tuners with butterbean tuning buttons function perfectly. Fingerboard shows virtually no visible wear, and frets have a ton of life left in them. Neck is straight and plays beautifully up and down the length of the fingerboard.Electronics: Dual FilterTron Patent No. humbuckers (Neck-5.03K ohms,Bridge-4.74K ohms) with 3-way pickup selector switch, 3-way tone selector switch, standby switch, and G-Arrow knobs, 2x individual volume, 1x master volume.Case: Original hard shell case included, along with original Gretsch polishing cloth.
