I purchased this used in 1976 in Detroit. It has sat in its case in my non-smoking home since 1983. The neck is in incredible condition although it does have some fret wear on the first 4 frets. The pick-guard and body were routed at the neck for a humbucker, however, the original lipstick pickup comes with the guitar. The pickup wires were cut close to the pick-up (about a 1/2 inch) but could be re-soddered if you decide to put it back to its original. The pots were also replaced many years ago and I do not have the originals. The plastic nut was replaced by a professional luthier with a bone nut and the action is nice and low. There is, as the pictures show, paint worn from the body by my arm and the expected buckle rash and minor scratches. At one point I had taken the original machine heads off and replaced them with Schallers. To do so, I drilled a small screw hole for each of the Schaller tuners, however, the original machine heads are back on. With the exception of one, none of the newer screw holes are visible with the original machine heads back on. The case is in very nice and perfect working condition. For many years I had a sticker on the pick guard which I've taken off, but now you can see some yellowing on the part where the pick guard had not been covered by the sticker. This is not super noticeable and I could not get it to show in a photo. Overall, this guitar is in very nice condition for its age.This will be packaged and shipped with the greatest of care.
