1941 Gibson TG (Tenor Guitar) 00 Here is a rare chance at a very interesting piece of Gibson history. This appears to be the last logged and last shippedTG-00 in the Spann's Guide to Gibson (1902-1941). 1941 was the last year for this model to be cataloged. This tapered X-braced tenor L-00 features an adjustable truss rod, as well as the original nut and saddle. The saddle sits high, but I have declined to shave it as I would prefer to leave that option to the new owner. The TG-00 features the same body shape and size as a pre-war L-00. Scale length is 22.75" Nut width is 1.156"The original owner installed a DeArmond pickup and control plate. The scars can still be seen as the mounting holes on the treble side of the sound hole, and behind the bridge are there and have not been filled or dowelled. An output jack hole is also present. The bridge and bridge plate are original. The fingerboard, neck and all other components of the body are factory original and spec. The Grover tuners were replaced at some point with Kluson closed back tuners. There appears to have only been one repaired crack in the transverse brace closest to the neck block. The back and sides have a few repaired surface cracks. This is a used, vintage instrument. Please message me with any and all questions BEFORE buying. We are pleased to present this amazing piece of Americana!
