Gibson Howard Roberts Fusion Mk1 1980 made in Kalamazoo
Estimated price for orientation: 2 700 $
Category: Electric Guitars
Class:
Description Brand: Gibson Right-/ Left-Handed: Right-Handed Body Type: Semi-Hollow Body Colour: Sunburst Model: Howard Roberts Fusion Mk1
FOR SALE GIBSON HOWARD ROBERTS FUSION MK1, in good original condition with factory hard case. Extremely rare, not to be confused with the much more common Mk3's. This guitar is heavier than a Mk3, but having owned both, this wins on all levels hands down! This guitar was made on 27th August 1980 in the famous Kalamazoo plant. The guitar is used, but in great condition. It has been professionally re-fretted by Mansons Guitars of Exeter by their top luthier. Manson described the condition as “mint” on the job sheet, but there are a couple of very minor blemishes near the pickup selector and some slight signs of buckle rash on the rear. By the jack socket on the side of the guitar there is another larger blemish (looks like the nitro reacted with the rubber of a guitar stand and damaged the lacquer- (I have seen this before on nitro finished guitars). It is finished in sunburst, has an ebony fingerboard, the fine tuners on the stop tailpiece (much better sonically and more practical than the silly finger one on the Mk3), and diamond shaped strap buttons. Centre block semi hollow body with two f holes. Playability is excellent! Really great action. The TONE is what will make you fall in love with this guitar though, it’s soon sweet. Totally mellow to biting grit! A really top performing instrument (unlike some Gibsons I have briefly owned). I have owned this guitar for many years, but have only gigged it on a few occasions. It has had pride of place in my studio for many years. I am reluctantly selling it due to having to downsize my collection before a planned move. I currently play a lovely Gibson 335 and a beautiful Heritage 535 when out live, so it’s got to go. I am rather reluctant to post this, due to it’s age and rarity. I AM prepared to get myself and the guitar a couple of budget flights (seats, not hold baggage) to your local airport if Ryanair or easy jet fly to near you. The buyer can meet me at the airport and satisfy themselves as to the guitar’s authenticity and condition before taking it away. This would give me greater peace of mind. Returns will then not be accepted. Obviously this will incur costs, which I will pay if I can find a cheap enough flight. If these firms can't offer flights then MESSAGE ME BEFORE BUYING so we can reach an agreement COLLECTION from Devon or Portugal is also available. The guitar is currently in Portugal, but will be available for delivery across europe as long as I can choose the cheapest flight. Paypal only or cash on delivery. No returns. European salad delivery ONLY.
