About Teye Guitars ~Handmade in Austin, Texas by Teye himself, these beautiful and unique Moorish inspired guitars are truly special. Perfectly hand crafted, with etchings and inlays adorning the headstock, fretboard, body and hardware, each detail has been created with the utmost attention to detail. Some of the finest electric guitars made today, a true boutique guitar.About this E-Series La Mora Guitar ~The E-Series is the top of the line, flagship TMF-Guitars. They all featured beautiful full original mosaics, engraved metal plates, Teye-Master-series knobs, Lollar pick-ups and the full new Teye-electronics including the Mood Analog Spectrum Modeller circuit, they represent Teye’s un-compromised vision of his Electric Gypsy guitar. This instrument, serial number 00244 'La Mora' features in particular a border of ebony mosaic and turquoise mother of pearl inlays. An engraved metal faceplate along with custom Teye hardware and beautiful gold Lollar Imperial humbuckers.
On the upper bout you'll find a 5 way switch, which offers a great range of tones, including full humbucker and coil splitting along with an out of phase position.
For the controls, you're not met with usual LP style 2x Vol 2x Tone. Here you'll find 2 volumes, independent for each pickup, like an LP, but a single master tone and the unique 'Mood' control (now named the Mojo control by Teye), which creates a blend between humbucker and single coil tone as you roll it on or off. All of this creates an incredibly versatile guitar indeed!
The mahogany body and neck is finished in a beautiful 'Wild Shipwreck' finish which was an extra option from new, and has a rich dark stain to it that is incredibly smooth to the touch making playing if feel a breeze!
Ebony fretboard going right up to 24 frets which is a nice bonus, is incredibly dark and the 12th fret inlay is rather tasty too!
It's a surprisingly light guitar, with the hardware and design I did expect to pick this up and feel my arms stretch but quite the opposite! It's a very comfortable weight and also slightly slimmer body depth than a traditional LP for comparisons sake.
The neck is a fairly flat D, nice wide shoulders meeting a flat centre, it's not chunky nor slim, just incredibly comfortable in your hands. Paired with the finish it plays like butter.
It comes with a fitted Teye Guitars case made by TKL, hardshell with soft black fluffy lining.
There is some play wear on the back of the guitar, buckle type marks which are displayed in the photo. But this guitar has been loved and cared for, and most importantly played because it is such a great instrument.
It was bought new by the original owner from the UK main dealer, The Little Guitar Shop who are friends of ours and a great store. It was new at £5,500.Specs ~
