Indian Rosewood Fretboard-100% stock as it left Gibson's Custom Shop in 2011-VOS gold finish, light ageing -All cloth wiring, caps, etc. isstock as it left the factory in 2011- Super nice & dark rosewood fretboard- Fairly chunky neck with a slight "D" profile- Lightweight, solid mahogany body (guitar weighs 8lbs. 2.6 ounces)- Lightly tinted, natural finished backCONDITION:- Very good to excellent overall condition for it's age.- Tiny ding on lower bout (side) close to back.- Some very fine, shallow bucklerash to back of body that I triedunsuccessfully to photo. It is reallyhard to detect unless you maneuver the guitar under bright lighting.- Pick-up covers are showing some lightoxidization and rust, in addition to the lightageing to these parts that was done at thefactory- Very, very light fret wear- Original Hard Shell Case in excellent conditionPLAYABILITY:- This is one of the better playing Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul's. The fretboard and neck are straight. Action is excellent with NO fret buzz or funny business all the way up and down the dark rosewood board. Guitar is warm and resonant, even while unplugged, and one can feel the resonance, particularly in the neck, as the guitar has a nice vibrant acoustic quality to it. Plugged in, guitar has a balanced, lower midrange, but retains some bite on the treble side. Custom Shop guitars can vary a great deal in terms of what each guitar has to offer, quality of build, tone, weight, etc. This one was originally purchased from Mark at Mark's Guitar Loft, because he is known for seeking out finer examples of Gibson Custom Shop guitars. This is definitely one of the good ones, it's lightweight, yet balanced build quality, along with it's chunky neck, making this guitar a joy to play.Carefully shipped, free including insurance.
