GIBSON SG STANDARD 2005 PLEASE NOTE: This is a genuine, professional standard, rock-star level Gibson SG, made in the USA, with a serial number and Canadian hardcase.  It is not the cheap, inferior SG version which Ebay seems to be flooded with (I think they are called SG Specials, but still have ‘Gibson’ on the headstock) – this is the real deal!
History: Bought new from Sound Control in Leeds in late 2006 for the then discounted sum of £1150. Owned by myself the entire time and treasured - I am the kind of person that looks after things. It has been gigged in that it served as a back-up for my trusty Les Paul on many an occasion, but I don’t think I ever played it onstage.
Condition: Excellent overall – in fairness, it was always second to my Les Paul, and has sat in its case for the last four years, so it hasn’t been played nearly as much as you might expect in the ten years I’ve owned it. There are the customary light scratches on the scratch plate, and the back from rubbing against zips/belt buckles, but this is entirely to be expected and in any case, can only be seen when held in the light. The switch and pots all operate as smoothly as the day I bought the instrument, and the pick-ups still absolutely roar. There is one ding on the headstock courtesy of my old housemate, but aside from that it’s in great condition, with only very minor dents to speak of. It has received a good clean & polish, and a brief set-up, although the action was already pretty good. All round fantastic guitar! Best thing about this SG is that it plays really nicely – so well, in fact, that I was persuaded to buy it on a whim. Comes with: The original Gibson USA Canadian hardcase, which is immaculate inside (see pics). The exterior has a couple of bashes and scrapes, but is in overall very good condition and does it job perfectly. Also included is the (good quality) plain black strap and plastic strap buttons that I have used with it since day one. In addition to this, I put on a new pack of strings today (10s, Regular Slinky – they stay in tune better than 9s and can take more stick!) so it will be sounding crisp when it arrives with the winning bidder. Reason for selling: I got old (31!). My band days are long behind me, and I’m more into my photography these days, so the proceeds from this will go towards a new camera. Delivery: Will be sent out by UPS, meticulously packed, with £1000 of additional insurance cover (not that the buyer needs to worry about this, you are protected by eBay's Buyer Guarantee anyway). Alternatively, pick up is welcome from Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, where cash will also be accepted as a payment method (no cheques!)  BEST OFFERS WELCOME! Cheers, Angus Any questions, please fire away – I understand that buying a guitar like this is a big deal so will happily assist. Thanks for looking J
