If you are considering this bass, then you know the real deal Fender sound (I know Precision aficionado's would differ). Please no bidding to try it out. Go to your local shop and play one before you bid. I'm not sure you'll find a 1990, but you will have an idea of what a great bass you are contemplating owning.I have a few basses in my arsenal but none sound like a Fender Jazz. I hate to say it but it's more versatile that my Alembic, Roscoe, Sukop, and Smith. I can cover Funk, Blues, Rock, and Jazz on this Bass. Why am I selling it? I found another one that has the finish I want.
Why pay top dollar for a boutique bass that sounds like a Fender when you can own the real thing? This is a nice working players "go to" axe at a reasonable price. I've seen the discussions about Mexican vs American made. I own both. From a sound and playability perspective they are both quality instruments. The difference is resale value. However, that only matters if you plan to sell it. For whatever reason, the American made seems to hold value better.Here's the bottom line. Buying expensive instruments online is only a risk if you don't know the quality of the items you plan to buy.Currently there are over 700 five (5) string Fender basses listed, You won't find a better deal than my Vintage 1990.
I'm listing this as no returns excepted. I have been burned by Ebay's lengthly time return policy. I had my item "tested" by the buyer at his gig, only to have it damaged. and returned.
