Please read the description carefully and let me know if you have any questions. General: This is a very nice looking 1974 Fender Telecaster electric guitar with a factory-installed Bigsby tremolo system. The guitar sounds great with lots of twang and spank (it is so twangy that I installed round wound strings to settle it down a bit). To my knowledge everything is original except the tuners. This is a great deal on a player’s Tele with a hard to find combination of relatively light weight, natural finish, and factory Bigsby. I would love to keep this guitar but I don’t have much time to play these days.Neck: The neck is in Fair condition. The original tuners were removed by a previous owner, and newer Fender tuners were installed. No extra holes appear to have been drilled, but removing the tuners created chips in the wood around the ferrules (see photos). Between the 10th and 16th frets the neck warps up slightly. The truss rod is loose and doesn’t seem to affect this bump. The frets have been leveled to compensate for the bend in the neck so that the guitar is fully playable with no dead notes, but to fully correct this issue you would need to re-fret the guitar or install a replacement neck. The frets show very little sign of playing wear so my original plan was to find a replacement neck and keep the original neck in storage. Body: Natural finish in Very Good condition. Some finish checking is developing, and there are minor scratches in the usual places. On the back of the guitar someone wrote the name “Evangeline” in magic marker then removed it with a solvent. You can still see the name but you have to look carefully (I don’t think it shows in the photos). The pickguard and hardware are in very good shape. The Bigsby is faded a bit but functions as it should. The overall weight of the guitar is 8.5 pounds on a bathroom scale, which I find to be comfortable and light especially for a 70s Tele with a Bigsby. Electronics: Everything appears to be original to me though there is some soldering that looks to be a bit on the sloppy side. The tone pot code reads 304741 and the volume pot code is 3047414.Case: What appears to be the original Fender hard case is included. There is a tear on the inside of the case that has been repaired with tape, and some tears/blemishes to the tolex on the outside of the case. All the latches work.Free shipping to lower 48 states. No international shipping. Local pickup in the Twin Cities metro may be arranged. Let me know if you have any questions and good luck bidding.
