I am selling my Yamaha Custom French Horn. This horn was the prototype instrument for the YHR-868 model of horns. What that means is the entire instrument was hand-made and fitted to Yamaha's highest and exacting standards! The current production models are built to the same specifications as this horn. This unlacquered, large-bore, Kruspe-wrap horn has no equal, neither in sound nor ease of play. This is an amazing instrument which plays beautifully and needs a home where it will be loved and played every day! I have always admired this horn because every note is in tune and the large bore makes it possible to play deep, dark music, yet it also soars like an angel in the upper range. When I am playing gently, every note is easy to articulate. When I am playing forcefully, this horn keeps up with me. The versatile horn is perfect for advanced high school musicians, college students, and professional players. I acquired the horn immediately after it stopped being used as a prototype instrument, and I personally have fewer than 100 hours of playing time on it. It comes with a Yamah mouhpiece.This horn turned out beauifully ater the ultrasonic cleaing! It is now polished and has all new strings and bumpers, including the spit valve. It does have a dent near bell and I am willing to discount the sales price to accommodate this repair.
