Hello my name is John. I restore, recondition vintage microphones for display, prop and functional use. I am offering this very rare 1950's era Turner 77 Cardioid microphone, in box with Rapco balanced line mic cable. I have not seen one of these on E bay in a couple years. They do not come around very often and this one is in well above average cosmetic condition with very little sign of wear on the painted body. Museum quality. The design incorporated a combination of a dynamic and velocity (Ribbon) element. When tested I got output on all 4 settings from the lower, dynamic element. No output from the upper ribbon. To get the full, intended audio output, the ribbon would need to be replaced. I know a gentleman that does an excellent job replacing these if replacement is desired. The 77 is a very heavy and large microphone weighing several pounds. The height is 7 1/2 inches and it is 3 1/2 inches wide by 3 1/4 inches deep. The body is dark umber gray with a solid polished chrome screen. The picture with description comes out of my 1952 " Radio's Master" electronics book. An excellent mid century collector, prop piece and for full functional use the ribbon can be replaced for around $150. Thanks for looking and visit my E bay store for other microphone, stand and cable selections. " John's vintage microphone gallery"
