Hey drum collectors!!! Today I have a very special drum - a Ludwig 5x14 Bronze Supraphonic snare drum with a real Blue Olive badge! 5" deep, 14" wide. Original muffler in excellent condition. The badge is very nice with the original untampered grommet and serial #2,062.xxx, which puts it about 1980. The seamless shell is very clean with only a few tarnish spots and light scratches (nothing major and no dings), but otherwise very shiny. The bearing edges are very smooth and in great condition. The inside of the seamless shell drum is excellent with a beautiful patina. There is a "B" over the muffler knob. There are 10 lugs with Imperial lugs in nice shiny condition with very light pitting. Original 20 tension rods with washers. 4 of the 20 internal lug mount screws are replacements (no screwdriver groove) but the other 16 and the cups are original. The hoops are triple flanged and have little rust spots. It has a P85 (black face) with a rigged up strap holder, and a P83 Ludwig 70's block script butt plate with some rust (see pic). However, I am putting on a brand new Evans Level360 G1 coated head, an Evans Level 360 snare side 300 clear, and will include new fancy Grover 15 strand wires and a brand new chrome P-86 Millennium strainer, too! The weight is 4,085g (8.98 lbs.) so this bad boy is heavy. It will be shipped in a black Ludwig UFO plastic snare case. I love bronze snares and Ludwig makes the best! I have 3 other Ludwig bronze snares and I just love the metallic sound with rim shots and rolls, but bronze also has a dark woody sound that is less ringy than brass, which makes it a great recording drum in the studio, as well as gives it nice projection live. This is not a players drum. It is not a perfect specimen museum piece, either, but it's very clean and it's got that killer classic Ludwig sound! If you haven't played bronze snares, you need to try one. If you know what I'm talking about, you know this will be the last bronze snare you'll need in your arsenal. It has been babied and never gigged by me. I only play jazz so it's not thrashed either. The discriminating buyer will appreciate this fine instrument from my personal collection. It is sold AS IS, WHERE IS, with no refunds or returns. S/H will be $50 via FedEx or UPS Ground. Please contact me with any questions or request more photos before bidding. I expect payment only via Paypal and within 3 days of the end of the auction. I will ship internationally but only through eBay's international shipping program - buyer is liable for all customs/fees/duties/taxes and I will not falsify the declared value. Only serious bidders and offers, please. Item is listed locally and on other sites, so I reserve the right to terminate the auction early in accordance with eBay rules.
