This is a used National Scheerhorn, curly maple. I have modified this from the original to include a black Beard cover plate, black Beard sound hole rings and black Gotoh tuners. I did this simply because I like it better that way and it is similar to my previously owned Scheerhorn original. The tuner screw holes did not match exactly (see photo) and show. Sorry, original pieces no longer available. There are two production marks on the back in the clear coat. These are from original production and are not scratches. Each is about 1 inch long. There is a darkened area in the "Scheerhorn" emblem. I've shown this in the photo. I contacted National about this but they weren't able to replace it without extensive shipping and rework. Having previously owned a Scheerhorn original. I can tell you these are great instruments and within 99% of Tim's handmade versions as far as sound, feel and action. National has done a great job reproducing Tim's handmade versions. I don't claim that this is factory finish perfect. It shows the usual minor scuff marks of playing but there are no scratches that stand out.
