Description Brand: Northern Electric Model: 116 preamp, 117 amp Country/Region of Manufacture: Canada UPC: Does not apply
Beautiful condition Northern Electric Canadian export versions of the Western Electric 116 and 117 amplifier, with rack control panels. As found in a church installation, all tubes in place, untested in regards to function under power. The piece is being sold for restoration. Not guaranteed or intended for operation as is. They do not appear to have ever needed major service, I only see two resistors that have been replaced, all caps look original. These are just about as untouched as you could hope for! All transformers appear to test correctly with a meter. The 618A on the 116 input panel has unfortunately lost it's label, but readings indicate a 116A with a 25 ohm primary and a 3300 ohm secondary. The 117 is an interesting early compressor/limiter/expander unit as well as being a mixer amp, with controls for defeating these actions. Identical to the Western Electric branded versions in almost every regard.117 exterior capacitors are marked D 13793, D 13794 with the third dated 6-47.Shipping:This item is heavy.A rough calculation to send the 116/117 to California came in at 350 USD without insurance. The default on international shipping was 500 but I will amend the total in the final invoice to actual cost whether it be more or less than 500.Don't miss your chance to grab it!Thanks for looking.116B preamplifier618A transformer117AP amplifierexpansion and limiting controls197A output transformerR9063-24 power transformer
