Description

This is for an EMI RS61 preamplifier pair with a PSU, in excellent working condition. The PSU is a Fairchild electron tube one that works perfectly with the amps. The EMI RS61 is possibly the best and most rare microphone electron tube preamplifier ever made on earth. To the best of my knowledge no more than 30 units have been made, Also to the best of my knowledge it is the first time that such a pair is offered for sale. More information can be found on google with keywords: (recording the Beatles RS106 pdf)   Please visit my other items for the RS106 and schematics.     RS61s were also responsible for the sweetening part of the sound which is by definition longer lasting in the time domain and has a profound effect psychoacoustically. RS61s were sending and returning to the echo chambers bringing out the magic. Although V72s, Neves etc are great amps they still used electrolytics instead of paper in oil capacitors which are the best. If you would like to hear the silky smoothness RS61s gave just listen as an example to "Diamonds are Forever".  I am not sure but they may have been used at the tower's chamber as well, as Capitol  was by then EMI's. They were more likely alsoused at the chambers while recording all those great italian classics in Italy. Please do your own search. Pair comes with EMI to XLR balanced input output cables ready to produce magic out of the echo chamber or plate from your vocal mic as it did for EMI.
