This is an entry level 10-string pedal steel, with 3 pedals and 1 knee lever. That's more than enough to keep your attention in the first 6-12 months of your playing career and gives you enough changes to play all the hits with a bar slant or two. The idea is that you can start learning on something that doesn't cost 4 figures and decide whether or not you want to stick with the instrument. I bought this one 16 months ago from a guy who was moving up to a pro guitar and he also bought it from a guy who was moving up to a pro guitar. I'm selling it because I moved up to a Mullen. This particular one looks like it was made by MSA in the mid-70's. The guitar sounds pretty good and all the pedals and the E drop lever make their changes smoothly enough. Changer fingers tune with a regular Allen wrench (hex key) from your tool box. The only problem with this guitar is the #1 hole in the key head has apparently been wallowed out somehow in the past and the #1 key post has been swedged in with a spacer of some kind (see last photo), so tuning on this string has to be done at the bridge using your trusty Allen wrench. This guitar doesn't break strings, if properly strung. I only broke one #3 string in 16 months of daily playing. Molded plastic case is included, along with a flannel leg bag that can double as a pillowcase.
